3 Sample Catering Menus – One

158 Main and JPD cater many dinners and events throughout the year. As you might imagine, weddings are among our most frequent requests. To illustrate the wide range of styles and possibilities, we have selected some of the proposals we put together for clients.

The JPD dining room is available for certain events. We also cater many events on location throughout Cambridge and the surrounding areas, both indoors and outdoors. We can feed a small party of 15 guests or a large gathering of hundreds and provide the appropriate selection of appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks to suit occasion, atmosphere and budget.

Catering is a great challenge that finds solid grounds in good communication. We take the time to meet with clients and to discuss every necessary detail to ensure we understand what they envision so we may meet and exceed expectations with a perfectly tailored feast.

The following and first example is from an initial proposal to begin discussing the menu for a party of 200 wedding reception guests. Initial Menu Proposal

Cocktail Hour: Vermont Cheese Board with 4 Vermont cheeses, garnished with fruit and breads. Recommended cheeses include Does leap Goat cheese, Blythedale Farm Brie, Grafton Cheddar and Green Mountain Bleu.

Steak:
1. Steak Au Poivre – Pepper Seared Steak with Green Peppercorn Demi Glaze
2. Marinated London Broil with Mushroom and Onion Demi Glaze
3. Grilled Hanger Steak with Bleu cheese Demi Glaze
4. Flat Iron Steak with Brandy Mustard Demi Glaze

Chicken:
1. Chicken Roulade Stuffed with Cheddar, Apples and Ham. Breaded and fried lightly. Served with a Raspberry Demi Glaze
2. Chicken Francaise with Lemon Butter Sauce
3. Chicken Marsala with Mushroom Marsalis Demi Glaze
4. Chicken Roulade Stuffed with Brie, Apples and Ham, with Cider Demi Glaze

Choose one from each steak and chicken choices. The above can be served with Mashed Potato, Herbed Roasted Potato, Baked Potato or Rice pilaf;
Garden Vegetables, French Green Beans, Glazed Baby Carrots.

Garden Salad Served before Dinner: Baby Greens, Tomato, Carrots, Red Onion, Homemade Croutons, with Maple Basil Balsamic Dressing. Optional Maple Glazed Pecans and Bleu Cheese Crumble.

General catering fees and services

Plated Service is per person.

Bars: There is a set up fee for each bar. Bar includes all non-alcoholic beverages, soda, juice, mixers and water, plastic cups, bar napkins, straws etc…. Bartenders are paid by the hour. An hour prior and after service will be charged for set up and clean up. See bar options below.

Full Open Bar: Flat-rate fee per person for duration of service.
Hosted Bar: Host pre-pays for first drink for entire party, then cash bar.
Cash Bar: Guests pay for their drinks. No cost to host except set up fees.
Other costs: 18% gratuity. Glassware, tableware and silverware fees apply.
